Endpoint Groups

By using endpoint groups, you can apply management and configuration features to many endpoints simultaneously.

Configuring ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) endpoint groups is done in the Endpoint Groups page (ConfigurationEndpoint Management > Endpoint Groups).

For each currently configured endpoint group, the number of endpoints it includes is displayed, and an indication of whether or not it is displayed in the Admin Dashboard.

The default endpoint groups are:

  • All Endpoints: all endpoints on which the ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Agent is installed.

  • Active Endpoints: endpoints that are installed with the ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Agent and currently configured to be active.

  • Windows Servers: endpoints running any version of the Microsoft Windows operating system and on which the ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Agent is installed.

  • Mac Servers: endpoints running any version of the Mac operating system and on which the ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Agent is installed.

  • Unix Servers: endpoints running supported versions of the Unix/Linux operating system and on which the ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Agent is installed.

  • Windows Workstations: endpoints running the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system and on which the ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Agent is installed.

  • Windows Gateway: endpoints that are running the Microsoft Windows Server Gateway and on which the ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Agent is installed.

  • Windows ActiveX: endpoints that are running Microsoft Windows ActiveX and on which the ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Agent is installed.

You cannot delete these endpoint groups nor modify their members. However, you can create additional endpoint groups.

You can use endpoint groups to configure permissions for Console Users. You can also manage Recording Policies using endpoint groups.
