Screen Capture Prerequisites

Screen capture data takes up more storage space than metadata and is configured separately.

  • File system storing production ObserveIT screen capture data (ObserveIT Warm Storage) is formatted with 64 KB blocks.

  • File system storing archive ObserveIT screen capture data (ObserveIT Cold Storage) is formatted with 64 KB blocks.

  • ObserveIT Warm Storage is shared over SMB.

  • ObserveIT Cold Storage is shared over SMB.

    SMB v3 is supported.

  • ObserveIT Service Account has Modify access to the Warm Storage folder

  • ObserveIT Service Account has Modify access to the Cold Storage folder.

  • File and Object Access auditing is disabled on disks storing ObserveIT screen capture data.

  • Indexing is disabled on disks storing ObserveIT screen capture data.

  • Disks storing ObserveIT screen capture data are excluded from antivirus scans.
