Current Version and Backward Compatibility

You can display information about the current ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) version by selecting About from the Help menu in the upper right corner of the Web Console.

The About page opens, displaying the following information:

  • Web Console Version

  • Using Port: TCP port used by the Agents to connect to the Application Server, usually 4884.

  • Insider Threat Library (ITL) Version: currently installed version of the ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Insider Threat Library of rules.

  • Support Portal: https://proofpointcommunities.force.com/community/s/

  •  

(If the Website Categorization module is installed) Website Categorization Last Update: most recent date and time that the Website Categorization module was successfully updated.

(If the Website Categorization module is installed) Website Categorization Machine: IP address of machine on which the Website Categorization module is installed.

Backward Compatibility

Most features, functions, and capabilities of ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) are backward compatible, which means that you can use an earlier version of the ITM on-Prem (ObserveIT) with the current version of the ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) server-side components. However, in order to maintain full feature compatibility, it is highly recommended that you use the most current version of the product.

Following are the minimum server-side and Agent components versions that are supported in this release:

Server-side

ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) 7.12.4 is the minimum supported version that can be upgraded to 7.16.2.

From ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) 7.10, support is on best effort.

If you have an earlier version that is not supported, first upgrade to the minimum supported version, and then upgrade to the latest version.

Agents (Windows or Unix)

ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) 7.12.0 is the minimum supported version for Agents to be upgraded to 7.16.2 (backward compatibility of Agents).

If you have an earlier version that is not supported, uninstall it, and then install the latest version.
