Configure Screen Capture Data Storage
After installing the ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Screenshot Storage Optimizer component (see Installing the Screenshots Storage Optimizer), configure ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) to work in Hot Storage/Warm Storage configuration to store the captured screen capture data:
Prerequisites:
-
ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Databases installed (see Installing the ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Databases)
-
ITM On-Prem Web Console installed (see Installing ITM On-Prem Web Console)
-
ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Application Server installed (see Installing ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Application Server)
-
Screenshot Storage Optimizer installed (See Installing the Screenshots Storage Optimizer)
-
Log into ITM On-Prem Web Console and select the Management Console tab.
-
Select the Configuration tab.
-
From the left-menu, select Storage Management > Storage.
-
Select the Screen Capture Data tab.
-
Click the Change storage mode button and Yes to confirm that you are sure you want to make changes. The Change Storage Mode dialog box displays.
-
Select On fast SSD-based hard drive, and then signed sessions on standard hard drive (Warm Storage).
-
For Hot Storage path, enter UNC path to the Hot Storage volume on the first ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Application Server in your ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) deployment. For example:
\\appsrv1.domain.local\oiths
-
Click Test Access. If ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) can access the path, a green checkmark will appear next to the button.
-
For Warm Storage path, enter the UNC path to the SMB share on the screen capture data store that will host the ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Warm Storage. For example:
\\fileserver.domain.local\oit\oitwarmstorage
-
Click Test Access. If ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) can access the path, a green checkmark will appear next to the button.
-
For Archive path, enter the UNC path to the SMB share on the screen capture data store that will host the ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) screen capture data archive. For example:
\\fileserver.domain.local\oit\oitcoldstorage
-
Click Test Access. If ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) can access the path, a green checkmark will appear next to the button.
-
Click Save Changes.
-
Click Save Changes again.
ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) screen capture data handling is now configured.
Configuring Hot Storage for additional Application Servers
In Configure screen capture data storage you have configured ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) to use the Hot Storage volume on a single ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Application Server in your ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) deployment.
If you have more than a single ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Application Server, in this section, you configure ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) to utilize additional Hot Storage volumes on the other ITM On-Prem (ObserveIT) Application Servers.
-
