Removing the ObserveIT Database

ObserveIT stores its database in an SQL Server. After removing all the server-side Web components and the Agents, the database is still attached to the SQL Server. Therefore, if you want to delete it, you must manually delete it from the SQL Server.

Although deleting the ObserveIT database is usually because you no longer need that data, as a caution it is recommended that you make a valid working backup before proceeding with these uninstallation steps.

To remove the ObserveIT database

1. Open SQL Management Studio or SQL Query Analyzer (depending on the version of SQL that you are running).

2. Expand Databases, and select ObserveIT and ObserveIT_Data databases (either one at a time, or both simultaneously by using the CTRL key).

3. Right-click the selected database(s) and select Delete.

4. In the Delete Objects window, click OK.
