Network Sizing Guidelines
As with database sizing, the volume of data that is transferred by the Agent to the Application Server is not constant, but based upon the profile of the typical recorded user session.
Considerations for network traffic size calculations include:

Typical screenshot size: A typical one-action screenshot and data of a typical average user action will consist of 20–30 KB.

Client-side or server-side compression: Reduces by half the size of the traffic transmitted by the Agents to the Application Server, but will incur additional CPU resource usage on the client-side. The default is server-side compression. To change, go to Configuration > Recording Policies > Edit and edit the policy that affects the monitored machines.

User keyboard and mouse usage and intensity: User activity is the trigger for the ObserveIT Agent capturing process. A session that has a high keyboard and mouse usage and intensity will produce more screenshots and captured data, resulting in more packets that are sent from the Agent to the Application server.
Monitoring one moderate user session that consists of approximately 500 user actions per hour (which takes approximately 10 MB) may require an average network usage of no more than 25-30 KB per second. Considering the fact that an average LAN connection runs at speeds of 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps, or higher, ObserveIT uses a very minimal percentage of the network utilization. Even when recording multiple sessions, the overall network usage of all the recorded sessions remains minimal.
